Become a 'Time To Change Champion'

Time to Change Champions are people with lived experience of mental health problems who campaign to change the way people think and act about mental health. The Champions network is an opportunity to meet like minded people and campaign together to change attitudes and behaviour.

Our champions have been involved in speaking at public events to help educate and reduce the stigma around the mental health. Champions have organised the national the time to talk day in Bedfordshire.

What do Champions do?

Being a Champion is a flexible and voluntary commitment. You only need to do what you feel comfortable doing and have time for. You don't need to be an expert on mental health or have knowledge of different mental health conditions.

Every Champion does different things to help people around them to understand and learn about mental illness.

Some of the things you could do as a Champion include:

Having conversations - talking about mental health and your own experience - whether that's with your mum, a mate or the postman!

Speaking up - challenging false or damaging stereotypes about mental illness

Sharing your story - talk about your experiences on social media

Forming campaigning groups - join together with other Champions to campaign against stigma

Running an activity - organise activities in your community

Shaping our work - influence the work of Time to Change
