Community Menath Health Short Course 3 Hour workshop
Our Community Mental Health short course discusses and presents information on mental health and in particular takes in account faith, cultural and community factors.
Mental Health is everyone’s business as we all have different degrees of mental health , however when this suffers it is important that we recognise the signs and symptoms so that we can help ourselves and others.
We believe that faith, culture and the community have unique coping mechanisms and we want to learn and share with others.
All faiths and background encourage positive mental health. Mental and spiritual wellbeing is written about across sacred texts and talked about in all cultural settings.
Our course invites applications from all communities and we will do our best to accommodate culture and faith together with an understanding on mental health.
Our courses include sessions on,stigma in the family, the community, ideas such 'possession' if this exists and its relationship to mental health, and most importantly recovery. Sessions also include the role of substance misuse as a form of coping mechanism, how to talk to someone who is isolated or has been traumatised by recent life experience.
If there is anything on which you would like us to focus, please get in touch and we will be happy to help. Please note all courses are over 18 only, however if you do not meet the criteria; please get in touch as we may know someone who can help!
